Really Nice UPVC Windows
Janaia: Yeah, that probably to have UPVC windows will feel really nice. You’ve also got some clear [story] windows, right? To add indirect light into your house. And I assume windows on the outside, even though the model doesn’t show it?
Ann: Absolutely.
Gord: There will be windows on the outside as well.
Ann: It’s a passive solar design so it’s designed to optimize the energy that’s available from the sun. We have the [clear story] roof that lets light in but in the summer it will shade the UPVC windows so that the light doesn’t heat up the house too much.
Janaia: Ah, I see.
Ann: With cobb it’s a thermal mass and we will be heating the thermal mass.
Gord: In the winter time when you want the heat and the sun is lower down it will come through the windows, land on the thermal mass, land on the cobb floor, warm those up.
